Does ceramic coating prevent scratches?+
No. A coating adds a hard, slick layer that helps with wash marks, chemicals, UV, and road film. It does not stop rock chips or deep scratches. If chip protection is the goal, look at paint protection film.
Do I need paint correction before ceramic coating?+
Usually, yes — at least a light polish. Coatings lock in whatever is already in the clear coat. If the paint has swirls, those swirls stay visible under the coating. We inspect the paint and recommend enhancement, one-step, or multi-step correction before the GYEON application.
What does ceramic coating not do?+
It is not PPF. It will not stop chips from highway debris. It is not a substitute for washing. Water spots from hard water and mineral deposits can still mark the surface if the car sits wet in the sun.
How do I wash a coated car in Illinois?+
Use a proper two-bucket or foam wash, a clean mitt, and avoid automatic brushes. Winter salt and spring grit are hard on paint — rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean towel. We can walk you through a simple maintenance routine after the job.
How long does a ceramic coating last?+
GYEON publishes durability ranges for Q² SYNCRO EVO, Q² MOHS, and Q² PURE EVO assuming the car is washed and maintained. Those are manufacturer figures, not a CHM warranty. Real-world life depends on how the car is stored, washed, and driven.
Can ceramic coating be combined with PPF?+
Yes. Film takes the hits on high-impact panels. Coating helps the rest of the paint — and can be applied over film when the install calls for it. We quote that combination after we see the vehicle.
